**Position overview**

As **Indigenous Communications and Community Liaison**, you will play an important role in enhancing communication and community engagement with the Musqueam community and partners by assisting in the development and implementation of a strategic and proactive communications program for the Vancouver Airport Authority. In collaboration with Musqueam and team leaders across the organization, you will share news, opportunities, protocol and culture. You will be responsible for content creation, event management and program administration.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Assisting with the development and production of YVR publications, in collaboration with Musqueam designers and Airport Authority Communications team
- Supporting and developing communications strategies which include incorporating Musqueam and reconciliation stories into YVR social medial channels, as well as ensuring consistency in messages
- Writing and developing newsletters and social media posts for YVR’s Indigenous Relations team
- Maintaining content calendar and supporting video production for social channels
- Managing related tours and events
- Managing committee documents and presentations

**Key qualifications include**:

- At least two years’ recent, related communications experience, supplemented by a minimum of a two-year post-secondary certificate or diploma in Communications, Business Writing or Indigenous Studies (BA, BBA or BCom preferred); or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Demonstrated experience with Indigenous relations, customer service and professional writing, with an awareness of the Musqueam culture and the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
- Strong writing and editing skills with good attention to detail and un understanding of the importance of message development and delivery
- Working knowledge of Office 365 (especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel), Oracle; as well as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proven ability in interpreting data gathered from customer surveys and community feedback, and incorporating it into annual reporting and measurement of team objectives

**Salary Range **:$72,008 to $94,115 per annum, based on 37.5 hours per week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
