**Job Description: Market Analyst (Summer Student)**

Position: Summer position for 9 weeks

Wage: $18.40/hr.; Full-time 30 hours a week

Conditions: Must be able to work full-time from Jul 2nd to August 30th, 2024

The South Granville Seniors Centre is a non-profit organization nestled in the heart of the South Granville area, dedicated to enhancing the lives of local seniors through a diverse array of social, recreational, and wellness programs and services. Our mission is to provide affordable and inclusive programming that fosters social engagement, health, and overall well-being among our senior community.

**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Fundraising and Grant Manager, the Market Analyst will:

- Conduct needs assessments for strategic planning.
- Evaluate current programs, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Research vital statistics relevant to our community and beyond.
- Develop data presentation formats.
- Compile and analyze data, presenting recommendations for future directions.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Foster a harmonious relationship with staff and managers.
- Provide weekly progress reports and distribute meeting minutes.
- Prepare agendas for team meetings and attend relevant meetings as requested.
- Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and feedback.
- Develop project plans, gather information, and coordinate meetings with stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with staff and the community to understand the center's mission and values.
- Stay informed about market trends and community resources.

**Assets**:

- Experience in market research methodologies, including survey design, data collection, and analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data collection and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment, adjusting priorities as needed to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and independently when required, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Knowledge of social services programming and understanding of the needs and challenges faced by seniors in the community.
- Familiarity with project management principles, including establishing timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the South Granville Seniors Center, with a passion for supporting the well-being of older adults in the community.

**Supervision**:
The Market Analyst will collaborate with and receive direction from the Fundraising and Grant Manager and, as needed, the Executive Director.

**This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) wage subsidy program. Eligible student participants must**:
**-Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.**

**-Have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year.**

**-Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.**

**-Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.**

Pay: $17.40-$19.40 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
