**Your Opportunity**:
The Youth Forensic Manager will provide daily, direct, and inspired operational leadership and clinical oversight in the Turningpoint Unit at Alberta Hospital Edmonton. Services within this portfolio are dedicated to providing quality treatment services to adolescents with mental and concurrent disorders who are in conflict with the law. These services include fitness, criminal responsibility, and mental health assessments, individual and group treatment services for adolescents with a history of mental illness, violent and sexual offending behaviours. The successful applicant will have excellent and proven managerial skills specifically suited to working in a multidisciplinary, inpatient treatment setting. The Manager will be responsible for all human resource and workforce management functions, including: recruitment, selection, training, performance management and assessment; Ability Management; and, workplace accommodation processes. An effective and assertive communicator, the Manager will successfully engage and collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders within the Unit and youth forensic system, including psychiatry, Justice and Solicitor General, and outpatient forensic services. In addition to human resource management, the Manager is fiscally responsible with the Unit operating budget and creates innovative solutions to complex issues. The Manager is responsible for evaluating the current program structure, and is able to propose, implement and deliver on quality improvement projects.

**Description**:
The Unit Manager is responsible for the operation of all forensic programs and services at Unit 3-6, Turningpoint. The Unit Manager ensures quality, accessible, and timely inpatient forensic services for youth and families. Additionally, the Unit Manager liaises with provincial and zone stakeholders, physicians, and community partners. Key responsibilities include recruitment, clinical and administrative supervision of staff, human resource follow up, program evaluation and development, and budget oversight including monitoring and approving expenditures.

**Required Qualifications**:
A Bachelor's Degree in a health related field is required, with a preference for a Master's Degree. All applicants eligible for registration in a professional regulatory body must have active registration. A minimum of three years in a leadership or management role is required, with preference given to those with experience in a forensic setting. Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered. Excellent leadership skills are fundamentally essential to this position. The Manager is able to lead by example and respond to time sensitive and clinically complex issues, balancing the operational and clinical contexts. The Manager will demonstrate competency and confidence in decision-making, and will demonstrate an ability to engage and to consult with the team as appropriate.
