Volunteer Aspire Program Assistant

The Aspire Mentorship Program supports young adults (age 16-25) who may experience barriers in achieving their career, training, education, and life stabilization goals by connecting them with professional volunteer mentors in our community. The Aspire program provides young adults with opportunities to connect with caring and consistent adult figures, and to better connect with and integrate into their community. Part of how this is achieved is by hosting a variety of events and gatherings for program participants, such as Pizza Networking Dinner, Board Game night, Art Attack, Social Hang, etc.
The Aspire Mentorship Program is looking for someone who can be a volunteer Program Assistant, doing the following tasks:
1. Foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive space at all events/gatherings
2. Assist with coordination, set up/clean up, and facilitation of events/gatherings
3. Act respectfully and professionally as an ambassador of JHS Peterborough while volunteering
4. Act as a role model to the youth and young adults who participate in JHS Peterborough programs
5. Attend volunteer orientation and ongoing training, as assigned by the Coordinator of Volunteer Services

4. Able to uphold organizational values and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Confidentiality agreement
5. Have an interest in, and/or some training and/or education in social services, or a related field is an asset, but is not required
Volunteer Requirements:
- Mentors must participate in a 3-hour volunteer orientation (food & refreshments provided).
- All volunteers must sign and adhere to a professional Code of Conduct and Confidentiality Agreement.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Expected hours: 2.5 per week
