LLDG has been a proudly family-run firm for over 70 years. We provide legal services in wills and estate law, real estate law, family law, and business law.
This **in-office** position is a maternity leave coverage with potential becoming a permanent position in the future.
**DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
**Wills and Powers of Attorney**:
- Responsible for intake process for potential clients, including arranging initial consultations, sending and collecting an estate planning worksheet before the initial client consultation
- Drafting and/or revising documents as needed, including but not limited to Wills, Powers of Attorney, Codicils, memos, retainer agreements, notarial copies; and correspondence;
- Corresponding directing with clients;
- Preparing signing packages for meetings between lawyer and client;
- Witnessing Will and Power of Attorney signings
- Maintaining Wills database;
- Preparing client invoices;
- Scanning old will files;
**General office support**:
- Opening & closing of files;
- Scheduling and maintaining calendars;
- Acting as a liaison between clients and lawyers;
- Organizing and maintaining physical and electronic client files in accordance with firm policies and procedures;
- Providing coverage for the receptionist when needed;
- Other administrative tasks as required by the lawyers;
**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- Successful completion of a legal assistant or law clerk post-secondary program;
- Experience working in wills area is an asset;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive);
- Experience working with PC Law or LEAP, and e-State Planner is an asset;
