Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s General Hospital are Building the Future of Care Together (BFCT) by developing a shared vision for the future of health care and new hospital infrastructure to care for more patients in our community closer to home for decades to come.

Led by the Joint VP of Redevelopment, the Building the Future of Care Together Redevelopment Team works collaboratively across both Grand River and St. Mary’s General hospitals to plan, design, and build all components of the redevelopment project together as a new, single organization. This plan includes: A new, state-of-the-art hospital site in Kitchener-Waterloo; renewing and repurposing the existing mid-town K-W Campus as an ambulatory and urgent care centre; renewing and expanding the Freeport Campus in Kitchener for modernized and expanded rehabilitation capacity.

All sites would be governed by the new, single organization following the planned merger of Grand River Hospital and St. Mary’s General Hospital in 2025.

We currently have an opportunity for **Integrated Project Director: Planning, Design, and Technical Services **to join the Building the Future of Care Together (BFCT) Project.

**How Integrated Project Director: Planning, Design, and Technical Services support our teams at Grand River Hospital**:
The Integrated Project Director will provide design and technical leadership for the BFCT Project. The Director will bring a broad understanding of clinical planning, site planning, design, contract documents, procurement, and construction for projects delivered using a number of procurement methods including Public-Private-Partnership (P3) models. The Director should have a good working knowledge of the policies, procedures, and process of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and Infrastructure Ontario. The Director should have good project and design management skills, as well as strong inter-personal skills.

The Director will be accountable for executing the approved Project Scope, Schedule and Budget, through the many phases of the project, and is responsible for the management of Project Technical Staff and Consultants. Issue affecting the approved Project Scope, Schedule, and Budget will be identified and escalated up to the Joint VP Redevelopment as required.

The Director will facilitate effective and timely decision making throughout the development and execution of the Project. The Director will ensure the timely delivery of all project deliverables to meet major project milestones: Design Program, Functional Program, Site Plan, Design Development and PSOS Development, Transaction Document Development, Procurement, and Construction phase of the project.

**At Grand River Hospital, the **Integrated Project Director: Planning, Design, and Technical Services has**:

- Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering where project management forms part of curriculum
- Accredited Member with the applicable Professional Association
- Knowledge of Broader Public Guidelines and guidelines and best practices for construction procurement processes is required
- Experience with creation of procurement documents (RFT, RFQ, RFP, RFSQ) is required
- PMP designation is an asset
- Experience in a clinical hospital setting is an asset
- 10 years of experience in related field, hospital experience is an asset
- Significant project management experience as part of a healthcare capital planning project
- Senior level project planning, development and implementation skills
- Proven experience in effectively managing diverse teams of project consultants, specialists and user groups
- Solid understanding of building systems & infrastructure
- Knowledge and understanding of Ontario Building Code, CSA Standards and other applicable standards
- Sustainable Design/LEED experience
- Decommissioning experience
- Solid understanding of LHIN and MoHLTC capital project processes
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure Ontario AFP project delivery method
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex and concurrent project activities, meet deadlines and manage change is essential
