**JOB SUMMARY**

As a key person to the Director of Planning/Merchandising, the Merchandise Planner plays a pivotal role in maximizing sales and optimizing inventory levels across all distribution channels, ensuring alignment with financial targets and overarching company goals. With a keen eye on market trends and product performance analysis, this role spearheads the strategic introduction of new products tailored to anticipated customer demands. Ultimately, the Merchandise Planner crafts a compelling "Product Story" designed to captivate and delight our customers.

As a member of the planning team, you play a key role in the financial success of Frank And Oak by making key financial decisions to maximize sales, margins and inventory productivity.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Merchandising**:

- Curate a seasonal collection that not only offers a diverse assortment of products but also tells a compelling story to engage customers and enhance their shopping experience
- Responsible for managing the Womenswear Open-to-Buy process, monitor the purchases against plans in accordance with sales trend and inventory levels
- Build preseason assortment plans based on business strategies, post-mortem takeaways, seasonal concepts and trends
- Forecast sales and inventory at the style/colour level for all key items
- Review purchases with the Director of Planning/Merchandising and recommend strategic actions to maximize sales and margins, optimize inventory, and mitigate risk

**Inventory Management**:

- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure adequate stock availability
- Analyze sales data and market trends to adjust inventory levels and product assortment as needed
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate inventory levels in all channels, including but not limited to allocation, recalls, chase orders, inbound priority, monitoring x-factory dates & transit times

**Financial Analysis**:

- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to each product category and collection
- Prepare budget forecasts and monitor spending to ensure adherence to financial goals
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement and planning functions
- Be an integral part of building the long term financial and product strategies in line with the company objectives

**Cross-Functional Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, design, and sourcing, to align strategies with overall business objectives, notably on IMU optimization, sales event & markdown planning & execution, and any other ad-hoc projects requiring a merchandising point of view
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to gather input on merchandise needs and preferences & propose strategic solutions to meet all team’s requirements

**WHO YOU ARE**
- Genuinely a nice human being / Fun person to work with
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Degree in Fashion Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheet is a must
- Aware of current fashion trends with a good understanding of customer needs
- Highly analytical and detail-oriented with a strong business and financial acumen
- Strong problem-solving abilities and resourceful
- Excellent organizational skill with the ability to set priorities and adapt in a changing business environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Possess an active Canadian work permit
