**What's the Job?**

Reporting to the Director of Business Development, as a business development manager at RaceRocks you will play a crucial role collaborating with the sales and marketing team in identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within the defense, aerospace and marine sectors. You will be an important member of the Business Development team that will be attending industry conferences and business development events. Your responsibilities will include conducting market research to assess potential clients, analyzing industry trends, and staying abreast of geopolitical developments that may impact defense procurement. You will support and document the sales process using a CRM as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams on the development of proposals and competitive bids, and new contracts. Additionally, you will be tasked with building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, such as government agencies, military officials, and industry partners. Success in this role requires a combination of business acumen, understanding of defense technologies, and adept relationship skills to help the team secure and expand our work in the defence sector.

**Qualifications**
- Five to seven years experience in business development is strongly preferred with a background in the technology, defense, marine or aerospace industries
- Experience as a part of a team developing and executing strategic business development.
- Knowledge of the Canadian defense industry and prime contractors is highly advantageous.
- Experience working with government and Indigenous relations is an asset
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field is an asset

**Skills**
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and influence various stakeholders.
- Proficient in using CRM software (such as HubSpot) for sales pipeline management and reporting.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to see the big picture while also focusing on detailed execution.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Culturally sensitive and adept at working with diverse groups, including Indigenous communities.
