We are a successful window covering manufacturer located in Scarborough. We are a small business of 12 employees and have been operating for 30 years. Our business manufactures many types window coverings specializing in wholesale, commercial projects and online sales for box stores.
We are looking for an energetic and versatile individual to join our team that can take on multiple roles. Your primary responsibility will be accounting and bookkeeping but you are also required to provide back up to our full time office administrator.
**Responsibilities**:
**Bookkeeping**:
- Assist in the preparation of periodic financial statements with the External Accountants.
- Completing payments by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Reconcile company credit cards with corresponding purchases and payments.
- Managing bank and general ledger reconciliations including posting of journal entries and adjusting entries as necessary.
- Responsible in creating domestic and foreign bank transfer.
- Ensures timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Comply with all local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Act as a Petty Custodian of the company.
- Coordinating and managing the inbound and outbound for domestic and international shipments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Office Admin**:
- Interacting with customers
- Taking new orders
- Checking the warehouse for completed orders
- Pricing quotes
**Qualifications**:
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma, in a related field is an asset
- 2-3+ years experience with bookkeeping.
- Advanced accounting software skills (**Sage50 required**, QuickBooks).
- Proficient use in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Effective written and oral communication.
- Ability to work effectively both independently as well as within a team.
**Experience**:
- Accounting: minimum 2 years, 3 years+ (preferred)
- Administrative or customer service experience is an asset
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
