To support us on our journey, the **Murray Koffler Urologic Wellness Centre** department is looking for a Receptionist to join its team at the **Mount Sinai Hospital** Site.
- Receives, greets and screens patients and visitors coming into the area; obtains necessary information, directs patients and visitors to appropriate personnel and/or areas of the Hospital
- Answers, screens and forwards telephone calls to appropriate personnel
- Register patients to obtain an MRN/MSN and up-date the demographic information as necessary
- Ensure that MOH/Insurance and other payment information is entered and current
- Enters all new patient appointments and follow up appointments into the computer
- Ensures all new patient referral letters have been received from referring physicians before the appointments
- Informs doctors' offices of no-shows and that the onus is on their offices to rebook and remind their patients of the new appointments.
- Prepares requisitions with all pertinent information, ensuring that the patients' requisitions are complete and attach the specific paperwork for each test
- Keeps track of patients in the waiting room and monitor wait times
- Sends claims to OHIP using Accuro.
- Corrects OHIP error reports and re-submits claims as necessary
- Mails consult notes to referring doctors
- Maintains filing system, retrieve files and photocopies as required
- Acts as a resource/information desk for all visitors to the 6th floor
- Job Requirements- 1 year recent reception experience in a Medical Clinic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute
- Experience in Care File (preferred)
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology (preferred)
- Ability to communicate and read using English in order to effectively perform essential requirements of this position
- Good organizational and time-management skills used to multi-task and work effectively under pressure
- Ability to use good judgement in assessing difficult situations
- Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
