The WRDSB Facility Services Department is seeking an energetic, knowledgeable individual to work with an established Facility Services team.

Reporting to the Senior Facility Manager, the Facility Manager will be responsible for directing a team of supervisors in the supervision, direction, and management of the Custodial and Maintenance Association staff at 25 to 35 schools. The incumbent will work collaboratively with other members of the Facility Services team to ensure that the Board’s buildings are operated efficiently to provide a clean, comfortable, safe, learning and work environment for all users.

The successful applicant for this Mid-Management Level 5 position (salary range of $91,501 to $106,510), will be working 40 hours per week, 12 months per year, effective on a date to be determined.

**Responsibilities**
- Act as a leader, coordinator, trainer, resource person and advisor to three supervisors on all matters related to Facility Operations (Custodial), Building Maintenance (reactive and preventive), Exterior Grounds Maintenance, and Contracted Maintenance and Custodial Services;
- Responsible for the overall condition of the assigned group of schools including custodial care, and maintenance. manage staffing levels in the schools of the assigned area, including hiring and training new custodians;
- Development of positive human resource and labour management relationships;
- Responsible to develop, administer and be accountable for an annual operating budget of almost $9,000,000 while meeting the departmental standards and expectations related to continuous improvement and all legislated and regulated requirements;
- Responsible for establishing priorities of the renewal plan and budget for the assigned schools with an annual budget of approximately $8M;
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with area superintendent, school principals, relevant stakeholders, customers, external groups and agencies in response to inquiries, requests for assistance and advice;
- Prepare and present various reports for Senior Management as necessary for initiatives requiring approval for the Facility Services Department;
- On-call responsibilities on a rotational basis; and
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Must possess a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a leadership role managing or supervising teams;
- Must possess outstanding leadership, interpersonal and negotiating skills;
- Proven customer service skills;
- Must have O.S.S.G.D. plus knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Fire Code, Electrical Safety Code and other relevant codes and standards;
- Must be familiar with a continuous improvement philosophy;
- Analytical mind for problem solving;
- Must have experience and proven success in administering a large operating budget;
- Procurement knowledge with respect to Broader Public Sector Guidelines would be an asset;
- People management experience within a Union Environment would be an asset;
- Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Project Management experience pertaining to Building Condition Improvement Projects would be an asset;
- Post-secondary education in business, engineering, or facility management would be considered an asset; and
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle, is required.
