**Austrian Canadian Cultural Centre - Now Hiring: Banquet and Front of House Manager**

Sales and Catering is a vital part of the Austrian-Canadian Cultural Centre’s small, tight-knit team and will play a key role in marketing food events, assist with procurement of staffing requirements, assignment of seating arrangements, collection of ticket payments, maintenance and promotion of membership database.

The Austrian-Canadian Cultural Centre has a large, devoted club membership base that utilizes the building facilities, including: a dining room, lounge, multiple meeting rooms and a 280 seat main hall. The centre hosts many banquet events for club members and guests.

These events include: weddings, anniversary parties, retirement parties, family reunions, birthdays, celebrations of life, and business meetings. The centre also hosts annual club events (including Oktoberfest and Christmas) as well as monthly member dances. The in-house kitchen staff caters all on site events. Our facility is known for providing personalized service and value in accommodating our clients’ individual needs.

**Sales and Catering role includes**:
**Ongoing responsibilities**:

- Office duties: advertising, website upkeep, booking of all banquets and functions over the phone and in person, oversee banquet and seating arrangements, grow and promote our private event bookings through building on existing relationships with club members and re-engage with former clients
- Manage our annual membership renewals, promote new memberships
- Determine client’s individual event requirements (including menu selection) and work with the Chef and the Event Coordinator to ensure that client expectations are met
- Assist with staffing requirements, office rentals

**Skills**
- A flexible self-starter who can work in partnership with all team members.
- Catering, serving, restaurant management, office experience preferred
- Experience in event budgeting and scheduling
- Excellent customer service skills are a must
- fluency in German is an asset but not required

**Compensation and Commission**

Compensation will be based on skills, training and experience. This role has the opportunity for flexible hours and commissions from group bookings_. _Staff meals are provided.

- Day Shift (preferred)
- Night Shift (preferred)
