We’re looking for a financial analyst intern that’ll be supporting our team in analyzing various opportunities aligned with our growth strategy. This position is designed to introduce the student to the field of finance. The requisition number for this role is 205.

**Your Role**:
As you get to learn more about the organization and the field, you’ll be able to refine your experience to best align with your career interests). But here are the types of tasks you can expect:

- Assist in reviewing the necessary transactional, financial, and legal documents in accordance with compliance standards
- Assist in analyzing industry prospects by gathering information about growth, competitors; and market share possibilities
- Assist in generating models for valuation metrics, financial statements, projections, headcount planning, etc
- Assist in the execution of operational and administrative tasks associated with entity structuring or any other special projects

**Types of Projects to Expect**:

- Researching and defining a list of prospective companies that could be considered for acquisition / merge
- Determine the financial capability for headcount planning
- Craft a pro-forma financial statement for a venture financing
- Crafting a business valuation growth roadmap

**Mandatory Requirements**:
Due to the company policy and external funding arrangement for this placement, you must meet all the requirements below.
- Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution as a student
- Legally authorized to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a protected person under immigration & refugee act

In verifying the conditions above, you will be asked to provide supporting documentation (proof of employment eligibility and proof of enrolment) to both the funding provider and to our recruitment team if you are selected to move forward.

**Skills Sets and other required criteria**:

- Student currently enrolled in accounting, finance, economics or any related field at an accredited Canadian institution
- Knowledge of basic principles in accounting and finance
- Ability to work independently and autonomously with minimum supervision
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Knowledgeable about the industry and with research skills
- Extremely dedicated and motivated individual with high career aspirations
- Computer able to process large video files (500MB+) with wifi speed of minimum 5mbps

**Strongly preferred but not required**:

- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of legal / operations / compliance
- Holds a valid secret clearance or above
- Previous coursework in merge and acquisition, company valuation, and financial modelling

**Salary**: $15.75-$17.00 per hour
