**Job Description**:
**AECOM **Buildings + Places** **Architectural team are seeking an **Urbanism + Planning Practice Lead. **This position is based out of our **Markham, ON **office.

AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Expert in providing design and technical leadership in Urbanism + Planning national practice.
- Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues. At this level, the individual will have demonstrated an understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high-quality design and technical excellence.
- Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse landscape / urban design and planning activities.
- Interprets, organizes, executes and coordinates assignments.
- Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
- Applies advanced or state-of-the-art knowledge and experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions. The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually results from progressive experience.
- Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

**Minimum Requirements**:
University Degree in relevant field of study + 10 (ten) years of relevant experience, including 2 years of leadership.
