Reporting to the Director of Employment Services, the Community Outreach Coordinator will be primarily responsible for connecting people, especially vulnerable groups in the broader community, by promoting and making Dixon Hall’s services visible and accessible to everyone; actively seeking opportunities to create partnerships and to cultivate relationships with community groups, businesses, individuals, and other relevant organizations and stakeholders.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develops wholistic and integrated outreach strategies and implementation plan for employment services
- Establishes and maintains comprehensive classified and categorized outreach directory for community groups, agencies, public organizations, colleges, and stakeholders
- Reviews and analyzes ES data and meet with client groups to gain deeper understanding of the need and priorities of the community to develop outreach strategies
- Regularly visits community groups and agencies to identify trends, needs and opportunities and nurture new and old relationships with collaborative partners
- Assess and identify opportunities for joint events to be organized in partnership with community agencies, networks, public organizations and individuals
- Develops and manages internal/external corporate and local community events and actively participates in community networks, groups, and events
- Assists in the organization of special events, including job fairs, workshops, trainings donor/volunteer appreciation events and other initiatives.
- Organizes and oversees outreach events, exhibitions, campaign executions from conception through to completion.
- Assists and leads in the development and production of promotional materials including, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, handouts, flyers, media ads, information kits, reports and events aligned with Dixon Hall and funders’ guidelines.
- Provides timely and accurate information to support the Communications team for the development, maintenance, and implementation of Dixon Hall’s social media activity
- Establishes metrics and templates for accurate and timely reporting on outreach activities.
- Provides substantial input to the Communications team on marketing and social media campaigns including content creation, and engaging with content in the form of e-newsletters, web pages and blog content, and social media messages
- Actively participate in department and agency meetings and events, including after business hours events.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Completion of university degree or college diploma in Communications, Public Administration, Public Relations, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience working in a large organization, with demonstrated experience in areas relating to outreach in employment services, public relations, communication, community involvement, or promotional activities.
- Superior organizational, analytical, problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritize, and take initiative.
- Superior computer skills with an expert understanding of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook); Adobe Acrobat Pro; and a working knowledge of Database management (Community Suite) and experience with Adobe Creative Suite, is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written English language communication skills; fluency in additional languages, relevant to the communities of service, will be considered an asset.
- Familiar with both “cold-calling” and account management sales practices; physically able to meet with clients in environments located outside of the DHES office space.
- Knowledge of the non-profit sector and employment field are a definite asset.
- Skills and experience for public engagement and consultation processes.
- Possess a passion for public advocacy and demonstrate an understanding of the current challenges of racism and the opportunities for anti-racism work.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
- Self-directed and independent, as well as proven experience in working effectively as an inter-disciplinary team member and in collaboration with other community professionals.
- Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Age
