**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The Globe and Mail is seeking a reporter to cover retirement and financial planning as part of our investing and personal finance team.
Our readers highly value reporting on retirement benefits. They regularly turn to us for advice on how to properly prepare for their later years. Our goal is to provide long-term financial planning guidance for all readers, regardless of age or financial circumstance.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Report and write stories in a variety of formats
- Pitch original story ideas for multiple platforms
- Develop expertise on CPP, OAS and private pensions
- Work with colleagues across the department and wider newsroom to brainstorm story ideas as well as the best way to tell them

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- At least five years previous reporting experience
- Ability to write for a broad audience on complex financial issues
- Familiarity with calculations used in retirement planning, or willingness to learn
