Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Sergeant-at-Arms department is seeking a experienced, knowledgeable and motivated individual for the regular full-time position of Emergency Management Advisor.
Reporting to the Deputy Sergeant-at-Arms, the Emergency Management Advisor (Advisor) is the program lead, responsible for developing, evaluating and implementing the Legislative Assembly’s Emergency Management Program, coordinating program activities and ensuring a rapid, effective response and service delivery during emergencies. The Advisor plays a pivotal role in short
- and long
- term emergency response planning, floor warden program coordination, Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) activations, communications, training, event management and ensuring regulatory compliance.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Applicants must be/have**:

- Post-secondary education in emergency management or a related program plus at least three years of emergency management/preparedness experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience managing a program from inception to completion would be considered an asset.
- Experience developing emergency management plans, policies and procedures is considered an asset.
- Experience with incident response and recovery efforts is considered an asset.
