**Newcomer Settlement Program Settlement Worker**

**(Part-time until March 31, 2023)**

CCS is a settlement agency providing a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees regardless of race, religion or status. CCS is seeking a part-time contract NSP Settlement Worker to provide services in Mississauga and Brampton. The position requires proficiency in Spanish and regular daily travel throughout Peel Region.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide settlement services at CCS Mississauga and Brampton office
- Provide client-centered settlement services, including assessment, referral, information and orientation
- Assist newcomers in the development of a personalized settlement action plan
- Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate group sessions on topics relevant to client settlement needs
- Facilitate successful internal and external referrals to appropriate services
- Provide case management and follow-up services to support the achievement of positive client outcomes.
- Responsible for maintaining and developing hosting relationships with other community organizations
- Plan service delivery with CCS program teams and in consideration of host organizations
- Work closely with host agency staff to provide joint and/or complementary services as warranted
- Develop, document, and report on client outcomes
- Tracking of case management activities and data with required formats and management systems
- Contribute to the development of program related promotional materials
- Participate in team meetings, as well as other internal and external committees as required
- Prepare and submit statistical and progress reports on a regular and ad hoc basis as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University degree or college diploma in Social Sciences, Humanities, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in settlement and/or community work
- Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to issues affecting immigrant and refugees communities
- Must be able to travel daily to different service locations throughout Mississauga and Brampton
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Demonstrated skill at building and maintaining relationships with external hosts and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to be resourceful and independent in problem solving
- Excellent time management skills to manage competing and or varying deadlines and requirements
- Knowledge of community resources and services in the Peel Region
- Well-developed interview, analytical and case management skills
- Effective crosscultural communication skills with participants, colleagues, service providers and the public
- Ability to work productively in a web-based MS Office environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Fluency in written and verbal Spanish is required
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
- Demonstrated ability to work within the policies and practices of CCS and host organizations

**Location**:Peel Region (multiple locations in Mississauga & Brampton)

**Salary**:$27.16 - $28.65 per hour based on experience + vacation pay

Hours of Work: 14 hours per week, including evening and weekend hours as required
