**Youth Engagement Worker**

(Full-time Contract from June 19, 2023 to August 11, 2023)

Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) is a national non-profit organization, based in the Greater Toronto Area. CCS aims to empower immigrants and refugees of all religions, ethnicities, countries of origin, immigration status, sexual orientation, or political affiliation to develop the skills and acquire the necessary knowledge to settle, integrate and succeed in Canada.

CCS believes in the power of diversity and inclusion to foster change, nurture progress and move society forward. Newcomers need linguistically-appropriate assistance and culturally-sensitive support and CCS delivers programs and services in thirty languages to address these gaps, assisting clients to confidently navigate the labour market, school and health care systems.

**What you'll get to do**:
Conduct community outreach to engage newcomer youth and their families in planned activities.

Research and compile information about community programs for youth in the Peel

Work closely with settlement workers to design and conduct thorough needs analysis of newcomer youth and their families

Identify and compile related community resources to connect families for continue support.

Plan, develop and deliver weekly activities engage youth in educational activities to prepare them for their future education endeavors and career plan using online platforms and in-person as needed

Screen clients, complete Intake, and registration

Gather and analyze evaluations and feedback

Prepare and submit timely statistical and progress reports to supervisor

Work in close collaboration with other CCS service delivery staff teams

Other related duties as required

**What you need to know/have**:
Understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by newcomer youth and intergenerational dynamics

Good knowledge and experience in digital platforms, including social media

Strong computer skills in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Ability to work with various levels of learners within teams, and in a virtual environment

Flexible and adaptable working within diverse populations

Good English language communication skills, both written and verbal

Proficiency in a second language relevant to the demographics of Peel Region is an asset

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Per funding requirements opportunity is open to youth aged 15 - 30 years

Must be able to commit to full contract duration.

**Location**:Mississauga

**Hours**: 35 per week

**Compensation**: $15.50 per hour
