Pacifica Treatment Centre (Pacifica), founded in 1977, is an innovative charitable sector society that provides gender-inclusive in-residence treatment and community-based supportive recovery-focused services for individuals experiencing challenges associated with problematic substance use, in conjunction with concurrent mental health concerns and trauma.

**Nature and Scope of Work**
**Job Summary**: As a Cook at Pacifica Treatment Centre, you will play a vital role in ensuring the provision of nutritious meals to our clients. You will work independently, managing both meal preparation and kitchen cleanliness, with support from clients who will assist with chores.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Prepares breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to the specified schedule, ensuring meals are nutritious, appealing, and served on time.
- Follows recipes accurately and creatively use leftovers to minimize waste and provide variety.
- Maintains a clean and organized kitchen environment, including cleaning cookware, utensils, and appliances.
- Adheres to food safety standards and regulations, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
- Monitors kitchen inventory and report any shortages or requirements to the Food Services Coordinator.
- Modifies and adjusts established menus as required.
- Receives supplies, checks invoices against orders and goods received, stores supplies, and updates inventory records. Refers problems to supervisor.
- Collaborates with clients who assist with chores, providing guidance and ensuring a cooperative atmosphere.
- Handles any dietary restrictions or special requests from clients with care and attention.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:
Valid FoodSafe certificate.
Professional Cook Training Certificate (or equivalent experience).
As a licensed healthcare facility, a TB test and a criminal record check are required (costs reimbursed).

Pay: $25.61-$27.31 per hour
