Method Agent

The Method Agent holds a crucial role responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing efficient manufacturing processes for CNC machines. This position requires expertise in CNC programming, process engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies. The Method Agent works closely with production teams, engineers, and management to ensure the smooth operation of CNC machines, increase productivity, and achieve quality targets while adhering to safety regulations.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for CNC machines, ensuring efficient and cost-effective production while meeting quality standards;
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to translate technical specifications into actionable manufacturing processes and CNC programs;
- Create and modify CNC programs using CAM software, considering factors such as cutting tools, machining sequences, feed rates, and tool paths;
- Perform time studies and establish production standards for CNC machining operations, setting realistic targets and monitoring performance;
- Conduct process validations and capability studies to ensure the reliability and repeatability of CNC machining processes;
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cycle time reduction, and waste elimination, implementing lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies;
- Collaborate with tooling suppliers to select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices for CNC machines, optimizing efficiency and quality;
- Provide technical support and guidance to CNC machine operators, troubleshooting issues, and addressing process-related concerns;
- Maintain accurate documentation, including process flowcharts, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications and Skills:

- DEC in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field. Relevant certifications or equivalent experience will also be considered;
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically working with CNC machines and process engineering;
- Proficiency in CNC programming and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX etc.) with the ability to create and modify programs for various CNC machines;
- Strong knowledge of machining principles, tooling selection, cutting parameters, and CNC machine operation;
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive process optimization;
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions;
- Solid understanding of quality control techniques, process validations, and capability studies.
