Northern Gold Foods is a well established, leading manufacturer of a wide range of healthy and great tasting breakfast and snack food products. With roots dating back to 1978, Northern Gold Foods now has production facilities located in British Columbia, Ontario and Oregon.

We are currently seeking an **Industrial Maintenance Technician **to join our maintenance team.

The primary responsibility for this position will be ensuring the operation, maintenance and set-up of production equipment and assets, as well as, detecting irregularities and malfunctions.

This will include becoming familiar with all machinery operation in order to complete preventative maintenance, adjustments, changeover, set-up and troubleshooting on processing equipment, high speed automated packaging machines, and plant services machinery.

Interaction with our operations, quality and management teams are a must. You will be required to communicate the correct operation of machinery and assist operators and quality technicians to diagnose, troubleshoot and rectify a variety of production based, dynamic, day to day challenges.

**Other Essential Role Duties but limited to**:

- Troubleshoot PLC and industrial control systems using schematics and technical drawings.
- Complete logs and communicate with Supervisors, Managers and Operators on work performed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, operation manuals and engineering specifications to develop and execute correct work procedures.
- Aid in the training of new employees on the operation of production machinery.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
- Participate in the implementation of various improvement projects.
- All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- An excellent ability with hand and power tools.
- Proven track record performing maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- Good working knowledge of VFDs, PLCs, vision sensors and systems, electrical systems and troubleshooting, schematic analysis, robotics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Experience in welding and fabrication is not required but preferred.
- Excellent English language skills - both written & verbal.
- The ability to work independently.
- A team-oriented mindset; willingness and ability to take on other functional roles in the facility as needed.
- Must be willing and able to work rotating 12-hour continental shifts 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am, scheduled within a 24/7 operation (includes nights and weekends.

**Physical Demands**:

- Standing and walking on 12-hour shifts.
- Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs.
- Able to push/pull more than 1,000 lbs. using pallet jack.
- Able to continually bend, stoop, twist, use arms, wrists, and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift.
- Able to occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights, and climb steps with materials weighing 25 to 50 lbs.
