Tool Rental and Repair Associate
**Reports to**: Retail Manager

Position Summary

As a Tool Rental Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our Tool Rental department, maintaining equipment reliability, and delivering outstanding service to our customers. Your responsibilities will include basic maintenance of tools, assisting customers with rental transactions, and providing product knowledge and support.

**Key Responsibilities**:Customer Service Excellence**:

- Provide first-class customer service to all customers, assisting with inquiries and ensuring a positive rental experience.

**Tool Maintenance**:

- Perform basic preventive maintenance on tools and diagnose potential problems, proposing solutions for equipment issues.
- Repair small tools and engines
- Utilize manuals and vendor information to diagnose and restore equipment.

**Tool Rental Operations**:

- Clean, inspect, and prepare tools for rental, ensuring availability and readiness for customer use.
- Process tool rental transactions including logging repairs, generating contracts, and managing invoices.
- Assist customers by providing information on tool features, benefits, and proper usage.

**Inventory Management**:

- Maintain proper inventory levels of rental equipment, ensuring repairs are completed promptly while minimizing costs.
- Ensure rental equipment is properly displayed, signed, and maintained for customer access.

**Product Knowledge**:

- Demonstrate working knowledge and hands-on experience with all products in the department to assist customers in completing their projects.

**Administrative Tasks**:

- Operate computer systems to process rental transactions and follow related procedures accurately.

**Collaboration and Support**:

- Assist other departments as needed, such as counter service desk support, to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout workstations to enhance customer experience.

**Compliance and Safety**:

- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding loss prevention, product breakage, and health and safety regulations.

**Continuous Learning**:

- Stay updated on all tools, including maintenance, repair, parts ordering, and proper usage, through ongoing training and self-education.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Perform any other duties assigned by management to support store operations effectively.
