The Pricing Optimization team within Canadian Banking Analytics drives revenue and volume growth for product lines, including lending and deposits. They achieve this by offering advanced analytical pricing solutions that influence strategic decisions on consumer pricing (rates/fees) and other consumer behavior initiatives. The Manager of Pricing Analytics is responsible for developing analytical solutions to set and execute product prices. This includes providing analytics support for the deposits portfolio, performing feature engineering, building machine learning models for pricing optimization, and designing optimization engines. Additionally, they create end-to-end pricing model production pipelines that are scalable, reusable, and secure.

**Is this role right for you? In this role, you will**:
**Extract and cleanse large datasets in preparation for modelling or reporting**:

- Integrate data across a variety of data stores / platforms (eg. DB2, SQL server, Hive in Hadoop, BQ in GCP) in a way that helps building advanced analytical models
- Leverage distributed computing tools (e.g. Spark, Hadoop) for analysis, data mining and modeling
- Internal and external data source evaluation

**Design, build, and validate predictive models that explain the customer behavior over the product life cycle**:

- Origination models such as response, utilization and attrition modeling
- Portfolio management models such as renewal models, re-pricing models, and campaign acquisition models
- Portfolio segmentation/customer sensitivity modeling
- Performing revenue optimization for a chosen portfolio. You need to understand business objectives, translate them into mathematical optimization problems, create profit function and recommend optimal pricing for each product
- Model validation

**Effectively communicate with business lines**:

- Collaborate with business lines and other stakeholders and proactively identify opportunities to drive business value and influence pricing strategy
- Effectively communicate results of highly technical projects to business audiences

**Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with**:

- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, communication skills, and a strong ability to translate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
- Customer focus; results focus and time-management skills to meet tight turnaround deadlines
- Strong programming skills, ideally in Python, PySpark, R
- Strong SQL skills for querying relational databases
- Experience in Hadoop Big Data ecosystem(Hive, Spark, Pig, Sqoop), Cloud computing (Microsoft Azure or Google cloud), common statistical and machine learning libraries in Python, R, Spark (Keras/Tensorflow, Sklearn)
- University degree in relevant STEM discipline (Computer Science, Electrical/computer/software engineering and mathematics) with internship experience
- Preferred masters or PhD in mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline
- Preferred 2 years experience in an analytics role.
