**Did you know?**
The Accounting Operations (AO) Team within the Financial Services Department is responsible for the financial accounting that feeds into the financial reporting of the Bank as a corporate entity as well as the Exchange Fund Account and the government debt for which the Bank is fiscal agent, and the Bank’s pension plans. It ensures proper implementation of relevant accounting standards and policies.

**What you will do**

In addition, you will:

- Work closely with the Financial Policy and External Reporting (FPER) team to provide operational expertise on accounting policy and external reporting matters.
- Lead cross-functional projects to develop and implement systems and procedures, including collaborating on new Bank-wide operational policies and procedures.
- Develop a competent, effective team and a healthy work climate: review and assess employee performance, build employee capacity, support professional development and enable employees to optimize their contribution to the department and the Bank.

**What you need to succeed**
You are a leader by example, with the ability to effectively communicate to build and maintain strong relationships and collaborate in a team environment. You are detail oriented, a self-starter, and capable of grasping new information and providing innovative solutions. You have a flexible, adaptable and innovative mindset to new ideas and challenges.

In addition, you have:

- Hands-on experience with mainstream integrated accounting systems such as SAP (FI, CO, MM, AA modules), Blackline, etc.
- Knowledge of:

- International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Ability to lead a team of 5 analysts.

**Nice-to-have**
- previous experience working at a central bank or financial institution
- experience leading projects and change management initiatives
- understanding of the mandates and objectives of a central bank including how these are operationalized

**Your education and experience**
This position requires a CPA designation (CA, CMA or CGA), with an active membership in good standing and a minimum of eight years’ experience in different accounting or financial roles, preferably as a combination of both private and public sector experience, as well as a minimum of three years of management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

**What you need to know**
- Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
- Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
- Security level required: Be eligible to obtain Reliability
- There will be no relocation assistance provided

**Hybrid Work Model **#LI-Hybrid**
