Description:
The HR Specialist is responsible for providing administrative support to the HR team in a wide range of human resource functions. This is a fast-paced position that requires superb communication and organizational skills as well as a high level of attention to detail.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Important part of team responsible for the New Hire Experience.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection process, including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Manager on any recruitment related tasks including offer letters and employment agreements.
- Assist in employee data input and maintenance within the company HRIS system, validating that data entered and maintained within the employee records is accurate and updated, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Work with cross-functional teams to standardize, streamline and coordinate processes to maintain accuracy and data integrity within HRIS payroll system.
- Work with Payroll and Benefits Manager to provide payroll back up and weekly, monthly and support year end reconciliations.
- Create, organize, and maintain all personnel files.
- Assist in employee performance management, including tracking performance reviews and goals.
- Act as point of contact for all security badging and clearance requests and ensure all documents are completed in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the H&S Manager to support and maintain third party contractor compliance sites such as ISN and Avetta.
- Help with the administration functions of fleet, GPS and subcontractors.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements to management.
- Support HR-related projects, such as employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, and talent development initiatives.
- Assist with travel requests and event planning as required.
- Other duties assigned as needed.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Demonstrated experience with research and information gathering, including the ability to quickly gather data in a short timeframe on a wide variety of topics.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities.
- Ability to work and think independently and be able to ensure to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
- Ability to effectively work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Clear and professional communication skills (written and oral) both internally and externally
- Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

**Education and Experience**:

- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1 - 2 years administrative work
- HSA (Health and Safety Administrator) certification would be an asset.
- Intermediate proficiency with demonstrated experience utilizing various computer software programs such as online payroll systems, HRIS, and LMS preferred.
