Director of Support Programs

**Job Overview**
The director will provide leadership and direction in the development, delivery and evaluation of the mentoring program. In addition, the director will provide oversite and effective service delivery for all additional one-to-one child and youth support programs. The director will be responsible for supervising and working with staff to implement all aspects of the support programs and will ensure the ongoing integrity and compliance with all policies.
**The Program Director shall**:
- ensure that the Mentoring Programs comply with the policies of the agency.
- ensure that the Mentoring Program operates smoothly.
- create an environment that encourages a quality experience for staff, mentors and mentees.
- ensure that all programs operate with the mission, vision and values of the agency.
- ensure that recruitment of new volunteers is on-going.
- ensure good communication with partnering schools is on-going.
- interview and screen potential mentees and mentors.
- conduct reference checks of potential mentors.
- inform mentors, children/parents of their acceptance or rejection to the Mentoring Program.
- conduct mentoring training and safety training with all mentors and mentees.
- orientate selected schools to the Mentoring Program and ensure and MOU is signed.
- deliver on-going match support and supervision.
- maintain case notes on all of the matches in accordance with the policies.
- contact mentees, parents, mentors, schools and other involved social service agencies as appropriate for assessment input.
- remain aware of federal and provincial privacy legislation.
- remain aware of, and comply with, relevant child welfare legislation.
- perform administrative functions necessary to manage all support programs, as required. (I.e. counselling, Youth Justice, etc.)
- ensure that all client information is documented and stored accurately
- ensure accurate outcome and statistical information is kept up-to-date.
- ensure all clients and volunteers are informed of any pertinent agency information such as group programs, change of policy, change of address, etc.
- collect information and prepare monthly board reports.
- ensure the development and dispersment of recruitment and marketing materials.
- ensure that all volunteer files are updated and current and that the agency master volunteer list is accurate.
- ensure that a Director of Support Programs Training Manual is current and accurate.
**The successful applicant shall**
- have previous experience working in a related field.
- possess current first aid certification.
- have a diploma or degree in psychology, social work or other related human services.
- successfully complete the agency screening process, including the provision of a Criminal Record Check.
- have a minimum of a class 5 driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
