Legal Admin Assistant

Toronto, Canada Staffinity Inc Full time

Staffinity is looking for a Legal Admin Assistant for our client in downtown Toronto. This is a permanent position with salary, benefits and RRSP. The base salary range is 70-75k. The working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday on a hybrid schedule, 3 days in office and 2 days at home. A laptop will be provided.

**Responsibilities**:

- Draft pro forma responses to official actions based on client instructions on patent files.
- Prepare routine correspondence.
- Assist with and prepare draft responses to official actions on industrial design and patent files.
- Manage due dates and deadlines on upcoming patent files.
- Follow-up with clients and/or foreign associates to ensure instructions are received on time to meet all deadlines.
- Prepare accounts and manage pre-bills.

Qualifications:

- Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma from a recognized college is preferred.
- 3+ years of direct patent work experience as an administrative assistant or a clerk.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional grammar and proofreading skills
- Excellent client service skills.
- Ability to take instructions, prioritize incoming work, follow through on assignments and manage ongoing tasks.
- Highly organized team player with the ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Working knowledge of Inprotech and CIPO's online systems
- Excellent proficiency with Word 2016, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Aderant, and knowledge of iManage or a similar document management system is an asset.
- Knowledge of Trademarks is a strong asset.
- Life sciences and/or corporate background is an asset.
