- What it takes to be a meteorologist in a media landscape that is fast paced and ever changing
- How to create weather forecast maps using our internal weather software system, Baron Lynx to tell the top weather stories both nationally and internationally
- How to present weather information on TWN’s social, digital and TV platforms
- How to communicate with the video and editorial team and assist in the weather needs of each member-National weather forecasting and tools used along with detailed internal discussions with TWN’s meteorology team
- How to quickly respond in breaking severe weather events and how to support the meteorologists and presenters that are delivering the information
- What it’s like to work prolonged hours during active weather days

Please note this is a on site 16-week internship position from May - August 2023_**
**ABOUT YOU**:
- You are enrolled in a bachelor's degree in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
- Strong knowledge of North American meteorology, geography and climate

- Have a passion for meteorology and Canadian geography
- Thrive in a fast paced, team environment where you get to be a leader in communicating
- Demonstrate an exceptional ‘eye’ for graphical design-Excited about the idea of learning how to forecast from some of TWN’s senior meteorologists
- Understand the practical impact of weather on people and demonstrates strong meteorological judgment
- Deals calmly and effectively with high stress situations
- Pursues opportunities for personal development and willingly assimilates training, new information and feedback-Have a knack for finding and telling engaging weather stories
- Work quickly and makes sound decisions under the pressure of fixed deadlines
- Tailor information to users, taking their level of meteorological expertise into consideration
