Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) is a tool programmed in Visual Basic that works with an Excel file. Its function is to generate the vehicle sequences to be produced on our various assembly lines (12 separate assembly lines and others to come).

As BRP's systems and needs evolve, APS must be adapted to continue to fulfil its role. This includes new capabilities to be developed and integrated to ensure the tool is optimal.

As a member of the APS team, you will be responsible for analysis and programming of the tool, as well as its deployment, evolution and maintenance. You will also be called upon to train users of various sites.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS

Analysis and programming of the APS tool.

Evolution of the APS tool according to BRP's needs.

Diagnosis and correction of the tool.

Training planners in the use of APS.

Support for all BRP sites that use APS.

Based on remaining availability, design, program and maintain various VB/Excel tools to support operations.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

A relevant college or university education combined with 2 years of relevant programming experience.

Knowledge of VB in an Excel environment would be an asset.

Good analytical skills and global vision.

Curiosity, creativity and autonomy.

The ability to do computer programming.

Good grasp of the operation of an assembly and manufacturing plant.

Mastery of French and English is essential.

Someone who has a tendency to develop computer tools to get the job done more efficiently for themselves and/or colleagues.

A self-starter.

A good ability to conceptualize a problem in order to "lay down" a programmable solution to get the job done quickly.

Autonomous and proactive.

A strong focus on finding solutions.

Rigorous about keeping a minimum of standard tools so that maintenance remains manageable.

The position is based in Valcourt. Telecommuting is easily possible for 60% of work hours.
