**About Us**

As the largest siding company in Edmonton, Great Canadian Exteriors takes great pride in our understanding of the construction industry landscape and our successful projects. Our large, skilled workforce is professionally managed, ensuring reliability and consistency in every project we work on.

We are currently looking for a Controller to lead our accounting team at our head office, provide support to external divisions affiliated with Great Canadian Exteriors, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The Controller will work closely with leadership, internal teams and clients to provide expert financial guidance and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Manage all financial operations, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making within the organization.
- Possess an in-depth knowledge and ensure compliance with GAAP, accounting standards and industry-specific financial practices.
- Supervise the accounting team and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions; oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
- Manage cash flow, banking, insurance and all financial arrangements.
- Support asset purchase planning process by evaluating asset requests against budget, strategic objectives, and financial impact; assess potential return on investment (ROI) and total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Review and assess the financial aspects of contracts and agreements with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers; manage subcontractor and vendor invoices.
- Oversee job costing processes, ensure accurate allocation of costs to specific projects or phases.
- Manage the annual WCB filing process, including the accurate reporting of payroll information and payment of premiums; ensure compliance with WCB regulations and maintain detailed records for audits.
- Identify trends, variances, and areas of financial risk and opportunity; provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Adjust financial strategies and forecasts in response to economic and market trends that could impact the organization.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CMA.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; experience using Smartsheet and Jonas software (preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide support to other divisions.
