_**TITLE: Quality & Safety Manager**_
- **REPORTS TO: Director of Manufacturing**_

**General Responsibilities**:
Plan, co-ordinate and direct all aspects of Beaver Plastics’ Quality Assurance program with the goal to “**Build good quality in**”, not “**Inspect poor quality out**”. Plan, co-ordinate and direct Beaver Plastics Health and Safety Program. Encouraging an environment of continuous improvement in both Safety and Quality.

**Quality Assurance**:

- Ensuring that a quality system is established, implemented and maintaining continuous improvement initiatives.
- Quality Planning to meet specified requirements for products or projects.
- Reporting to management on the performance of the quality systems for the basis of improvement.
- Ensuring that all procedures defined in the Quality Assurance Manual are implemented by the responsible departments.
- Verifying the implementation of corrective actions for deficiencies that are identified.
- Final authority within the Company to determine if the manufactured products or services meet specified requirements.
- Investigate customer complaints.
- Manage the online training systems.
- Initiate Statistical Process Controls where beneficial.
- Perform QC Technician tasks when they are away.
- Identify new product QC specifications and packaging requirements to suit the customers needs.

**Health and Safety**:

- Ongoing Leadership of the Health and Safety Program.
- Working with management to ensure Beaver Plastics is complying with all safety regulations.
- Conducting employee orientation of new office staff.
- Incident/Accident investigations.
- Identify training needs, develop, and coordinate the training of staff for any of those needs.
- WCB claims management.

**Desired Education, Knowledge & Experience**:

- Formal Quality Control Training and experience.
- Formal Safety Training and experience.
- Working knowledge of OH&S regulations.
- Experience with WCB claim management.
- Post-secondary education in a technical field is considered an asset.
- Proficient with Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.

- A constant awareness of who the customer is, both internal and external, and the need to meet customer needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with production, sales and administration staff. Conflict management skills and the ability to maintain calm under pressure are important. Verbal and written communication skills are important for communicating with others both in and outside the company.
- Continuing personal education and development in all aspects of quality assurance and health and safety.
- Ability to use computers as an aid to planning, organizing, and developing Quality and Safety procedures and documents.
