Options for Services (OFS) is a program of Innovative LIFE Options Inc. It provides individuals with intellectual disabilities who manage their own services the option of contracting out administrative tasks. It is a service available to individuals all over the province.

OFS works with families and individuals to set up their own services and facilitate conversations around planning. The CDS Contractor will need to have the ability to develop good working/trusting relationships with families and individuals then phase out support as the capacity and comfortability of the family increases. The job of the CDS Contractor will vary depending on the needs of the individual and families and may support them to:

- Design what an individualized and meaningful day would look like as well as what staff supports are needed
- Identify how the individual would like to be supported by staff and what works best
- Network and creating connections with community resources
- Set up a bank account for all financial transactions related to administering employees
- Set up Worker’s Compensation Board Coverage for employees
- Develop an initial staff orientation package
- Learn about and understand employer responsibilities to CRA
- Develop a strategy for on-going submissions to CRA, as well as collect and organize payroll data
- Learn about options for running payroll, either through a company or manually, and initially set payroll up
- Learn about and understand Employment Standards requirements
- Develop a financial reporting system to meet reporting requirements and reconciliation

These tasks are to be completed as a support to the individual and/or family. The CDS Contractor fulfills these tasks by being a resource for information and best practices and by concisely compiling the information provided by the individual and/or family. The individual and/or family determine what they would like assistance with and what they would like the CDS Contractor to do for them.

**Essential Qualifications**:

- A minimum of two years or experience with individuals with an intellectual disability and/or their families
- A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check, Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Experience in Business Administration an asset
- Understanding of the Vulnerable Person’s Act and person-centered supports
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to exercise a high level of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must live in the province of Manitoba

**Desired Qualifications**:

- Proficient with online communication platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams
