Production/hull Manager

**Summary**
Manages, plans and directs the activities of the supervisors engaged in the preparation, installation and production of shipyard interiors by performing the following duties, in a manner that complies with all corporate safety procedures.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities - **other duties may be assigned as required.
- Oversees and assists supervisors assigned to the installation of joiner systems, furniture and equipment.
- Follows schedule timelines to ensure customer schedule dates are met.
- Adheres to the installation plan to complete the assignment by projecting requirements for resources (workers), materials, equipment, and support functions.
- Establishes and communicates work procedures to meet production schedules under the direct supervision of the Director of Operations.
- Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions, under instruction from the Director of Operations.
- Reads specifications such as blueprints and data, to determine installation requirements.
- Oversees the training of other shipyard employees in the installation of the outfitting scope and the safe operation of equipment.
- Supports the company’s employee engagement activities to support the achievement of company goals and objectives.
- Is accountable for installation performance, quality and increasing efficiencies through process improvement efforts.
- Fully engages in the EVM (Earned Value Management) process to monitor CPI (Cost Performance Index) and works with Project Management and the Director of Operations to take steps to correct poor performance metrics.
- Oversees the maintenance of time and production records.
- Confers with the team of Production Supervisors to coordinate installation activities.
- Assures equipment and tools are properly maintained.
- Enforces safety policies and regulations and uses PPE when in shipyard environment.
- Maintains an appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods to increase efficiency and safety.
**Supervisory Responsibilities**
Manages the supervisors and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; conducting performance appraisals; recommending employee rewards and discipline; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

**Education and/or Experience**
1. High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience; plus:
2. Previous supervisory exposure in a marine or manufacturing environment is required.
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
1. Ability to monitor and direct shipyard personnel.
2. Knowledge of shipbuilding construction and production standards
3. Ability to plan and layout work for the yard.
4. Solid reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
5. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manual.
6. Ability to write routine reports, routine correspondence and track information.
7. Ability to effectively speak and interact with employees and vendors.
8. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
9. Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative
**Certificates, Licenses, Registrations**
1. Valid driver’s license required.
