**THE ROLE**:
The **Lead, Radiation Safety**, as a radiation safety specialist, will be responsible for developing and overseeing the Radiation Protection Program for Denison Operations. Accountabilities include ensuring compliance with all regulations established by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and fulfilling the responsibilities associated with the provincial regulations of the Ministry of Labour (MOL). The role is responsible for the administration of policies and procedures, the promotion of radiation safety, and the implementation of the Radiation Protection (RP) and Industrial Hygiene (IH) programs. This includes recommending or approving corrective actions, identifying radiation safety concerns, initiating appropriate responses, and auditing for compliance and continuous improvement. The **Lead, Radiation Safety** is dedicated to fostering a robust safety culture, enhancing safety awareness, improving radiation safety standards, participating in decision-making and consultations, and creating a supportive environment that encourages trust, integrity, collaboration, and personal accountability.

This role is being offered as a **fulltime position** based out of Denison’s regional office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with regular travel to Denison’s remote project sites located in northern Saskatchewan. To be considered for this role, applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.

**OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE**:
Having direct experience in the development and implementation of radiation safety protocols and practices, you bring a strong sense of responsibility and safety-orientation to the position. Accompanied by solid communication skills and methodical reasoning, you bring a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and demonstrated competency in being able to identify and resolve complex problems with relative autonomy. Additional qualifications and attributes include:

- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in operational radiation safety or equivalent education and training.
- Completion of a recognized Radiation Safety Officer course in accordance with CNSC regulations is required; Canadian Radiation Protection Association (CRPA (R)) designation is an asset.
- Experience in uranium mining and milling projects is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of key concepts, theories, and practices related to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of radiation protection (RP) and industrial hygiene (IH) hazards.
- Proven knowledge and understanding of radiation protection principles, procedures, equipment, and techniques, along with the demonstrated ability to operate related equipment.
- Established expertise and understanding of provincial and federal radiation safety standards and technical compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with an aptitude for learning new software and electronic data management.
- Strong mathematical, physics, and statistics skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Capability to work independently while establishing and achieving various task objectives over the short, medium and long term.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across various disciplines and organizational levels.
- Advanced proficiency in English required for writing reports, developing procedures, creating training content and delivering training and presentations.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment while managing changing or conflicting priorities.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required along with the willingness to obtain and maintain First Aid Certification.
