**Your impact at CNIB**:

- Contribute to maximizing the independence and personal empowerment of people who are blind or partially sighted.
- Provide support with the development and implementation of interactive activities and programming for people of all ages living with sight loss from youth to seniors.
- Inclusively facilitate advocacy programs for participants with sight loss, along with family members and friends, regardless of income.
- Analyze programs on an ongoing basis and implement changes with prior approval.
- Coordinate community outreach efforts with regional and local CNIB foundation staff and volunteers.
- Provide communication support such as key messages, social media and program offerings.
- Support CNIB Accessibility and Research initiatives.

**Requirements**:
**Who you are**:

- Knowledge and experience in advocacy.
- Strong writing skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Mature and responsible.
- Must be able to work independently.

**We want to hear from you if you have**:

- Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is considered an asset.
- Personal or professional experience working with assistive technology and/or accessible environments is considered an asset.

**Eligibility**:
**This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs initiative, individuals must**:

- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment,
- Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
