What You'll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Capital Markets, OTC Derivatives Operations.

Reporting to the Director, OTC Confirmations and Client Liaison Group of CIBC Capital Markets Operations, you will support the daily activity of OTC Confirmations across all derivative products: Equities, Interest Rates, Commodities, FX Options. You must independently resolve complex issues and/or disputes with clients and business partners in a professional manner, engaging support from various groups (Front Office, Legal, Technology, etc..) as appropriate. You are strongly motivated and analytical professional with a passion for quantitative finance and derivative products. You must understand numerous structured/exotic products, associated trade events and acting as expert in the area of quantitative analysis of derivative markets.

How You’ll Succeed
- Understanding and documenting OTC Derivatives - strong knowledge across a broad spectrum of OTC transactions from a theoretical and practical viewpoint as well as the finance principles that underlie them. Strong knowledge of the structure of OTC Derivatives, ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association) Derivatives Definitions knowledge, standards and protocols, trade lifecycle events and related processes. You are aware of core regulation on the derivative markets, deadlines imposed by industry regulations in conforming transactions following specific and strict policies related, but not limited, to CFTC, EMIR, SEC. You have the ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation.
- You have previous exposure with derivatives exotic options measuring the model risk and analyzing its mean features and price sensitivities. Analyze and interpret mathematical equations governing the calculation of option cash settlement amounts for exotic options. Familiarity with industry-standard pricing models and algorithms used in exotic option pricing and settlement with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced knowledge of low code modern technology - Experience with analytical techniques to synthesize and interpret large amounts of data from multiple sources. You must demonstrate experience with VBA programming language and have exposure using analytical and automation tools (e.g. Power Automate, Tableau, Power BI) and advanced knowledge working with Word forms and Excel spreadsheets.
- Strong focus on process improvement - Regularly identify, develop and implement operational process enhancements with the goal of improving efficiencies and synergies between internal and external partners. Adopt and share a mindset oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort.
