**About Us**
As part of an alliance agreement Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Beginning in 2023 Aecon will support the validation phase design, procurement, early site preparation and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
**What is the Opportunity?**
- Develop and prepare temporary structure related engineering drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data.
- Complete general arrangement, assembly, fabrication, and erection drawings for all temporary structure items,
- Complete engineering drawings and plans for all temporary structure to be used during the construction including working platform, brackets, access scaffolding, climbing brackets, base plates, anchorage, tie off point, working at height elements, tie backs, guying and bracing, rail-skidding, tracks, lugs, boxes, and all steel structure elements, concrete, or wooed structures during construction.
- Help and work closely with building information models (BIM) team to provide digital representations of physical and functional aspects of temporary structures.
- Develop and prepare design sketches.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
**What You Bring to the Table**:
- Ability to operate computer-aided design (AutoCAD - 2D and 3D) software and manual drafting.
- Familiar with steel structure and welding symbols and drafting standards.
- Ability to multitask and manage several activities of drafting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from design engineers.
- Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe.
- Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions.
