About the Role:

Aecon is seeking a skilled Formwork Drafter to join our team. As a Formwork Drafter, you will be responsible for developing and preparing formwork, shoring, and scaffolding engineering drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and prepare formwork, shoring, and scaffolding engineering drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, and specifications.
• Complete general arrangement, assembly, and fabrication drawings for all formwork/falsework items.
• Complete engineering drawings and plans for all shoring/reshoring systems to be used during construction.
• Collaborate with the BIM team to provide digital representations of physical and functional aspects of temporary structures.
• Develop and prepare design sketches.
• Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
• Review and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in an Engineering or Civil discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in formwork drafting.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (AutoCAD – 2D and 3D) software and manual drafting.
• Ability to multitask and manage several activities of drafting.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from design engineers.
• Time management skills to complete work within the required timeframe.
• Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving.
