Overview:
The primary role of the Team Lead is to unlock the full potential of our data by defining, modelling, validating & ultimately putting data at the fingertips of various stakeholders while ensuring our operational data ecosystem is performant and secure. This role will share in the ownership of our data platform, from ingress through transformation and access/integration and will be leading a technical practice in the design and implementation of our next generation data and analytics solutions platform.

The Team Lead, Data Platform will support, scale, and optimize our BI, Analytics, and reporting services that are used extensively by all facets of the business in addition to managing the current on premise Database ecosystem while we prepare for strategic cloud adoption. This role will design and implement solutions to business problems that are unique to Forefront while mentoring a growing team of engineers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with various teams to define & document data architecture across integrated Enterprise Systems
- Assemble large, complex data that meet functional/non-functional business requirements
- Use the infrastructure/services required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
- Contribute to the creation, documentation, and maintenance of the data catalogue
- Design, implement & maintain data pipeline integrations and solutions, incorporating highly scalable cloud computing and large-scale data stores including data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts
- Work collaboratively with other Engineers to ensure a high standard of quality at all levels, ranging from operational efficiency of the ETL to the accuracy of data
- Perform Storage and Compute Analysis, Quantification and Forecasting
- Execute Database and data platform performance management
- Lead the design and management of database HA/DR processes
- Lead the configuration and tuning of databases, data platforms
- Bring best-practice experience to proactively and continuously build data-related practices within the team
- Contribute to the scalability of both data infrastructure and team processes, standards, and workflow
- Work with stakeholders to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data requirement needs
- Be customer-centric, data-obsessed, quality-focused, collaborative & have a positive attitude
- Keep our data separated and secure and adhering to regulatory and compliance obligations
- Work with HIPAA Expert Determination resource to ensure data is HIPAA-compliant
- Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems

Qualifications:
**Education & Experience**
- Bachelor/Engineering degree or College Diploma in IT / Computer Science/ software engineering or relevant field
- 10+ years of relevant experience in a complex, technical environment.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Expert SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), performance tuning, HA/DR architectures
- Expert Experience with either Azure or AWS cloud data technologies
- Experience with cloud services: (Redshift, RDS, EMR, Kinesis, S3, Glue, DMS-Batch/CDC, Athena, EC2, Lambda, etc.) (at least two)
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL SSIS and SSRS
- Expertise in developing scalable ETLs and data processes
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code software (e.g. Terraform or Cloudformation) and Data Pipeline and CI/CD processes
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: PowerShell, Python, Java, Scala, etc.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
- A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets
- Preferred experience with a data science programming language (e.g. R or Python).
- Excellent communication and able to work with stakeholders
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies and ways of working
- Good understanding of tools such as JIRA and Confluence
