The Peel District School

leadership roles within the PDSB. The workforce consists of teachers,
office staff, custodial staff, education assistants and professional staff. The
workforce is largely unionized through PDSB’s numerous affiliated bargaining
agents
**Responsibilities include**: monitoring absences and system call out in the Peel Absence Management system, ensuring vacancies are filled according to the established practices for all employee groups, assisting with the interpretation and administration of leave provisions in accordance with collective agreements and Board policies and procedures, providing statistical summary and analysis reports of fill rates, analysis and actioning of error and audit reports, absenteeism reports, auditing the activity of supply pools and taking appropriate actions including following up with employees and referring employee relations matters to the appropriate Human Resources Partner, identifying and troubleshooting issues, configuration and maintenance of HRIS and related systems, recommending process improvement efficiencies to ensure accuracy and efficient system operation, documenting standard operating procedures, processes and workflows, acting as a resource to HR staff and stakeholders by responding to queries and providing information; supporting system upgrades and special projects, other duties as assigned.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Post-secondary diploma/degree, preferably in human resources or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of two years in human resources or client services environment, preferably in a multi-union and public sector environment
Knowledge of relevant collective agreements and Board policies and procedures
Advanced computers skills with HRIS, Peel Absence Management system, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Demonstrated analytical skills for reporting, issue identification, problem solving and informing strategic decisions
Excellent documentation and communication skills, both written and verbal with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to take initiative, use judgment and work effectively within a team and independently
Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize work, manage multiple priorities and meet timelines in a fast-paced environment

Record of satisfactory on-the-job performance while employed by the Peel District School Board
