Ashfield Engage Canada has partnered with an emerging pharmaceutical company, Nordic Pharma Canada, to hire a dynamic Medical Science Liaison to focus on treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriasis.
As an integral member of the Medical Affairs team, MSLs support the company, its products and relevant therapeutic areas by advancing scientific and collaborative relationships and acting as a conduit for timely scientific exchange with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, investigators, payors, formulary committees, and similar entities.

Job Responsibilities
- Leads efforts in recognizing, identifying, cultivating, and establishing KOL relationships in specific therapeutic areas of interest. Identifies opportunities for scientific growth and generation of medical evidence in support of appropriate utilization of therapies.
- Identifies, develops and manages KOL relationships on a continuum of advocacy in support of company objectives and enhancing the company’s reputation as a scientifically innovative industry partner.
- Acquires and maintains a level of scientific knowledge in Rheumatology therapeutic area and/or disease state(s) involving clinical issues; able to interpret and disseminate pertinent scientific/clinical data and evaluates current and new information as it applies to therapies.
- Tactical delivery of programs according to established objectives and serves as a resource for education and dissemination of pertinent, clear, and balanced scientific information to internal and external audiences (KOLs, healthcare professionals (HCPs), Medical Societies, investigators, payors, formulary committees, and similar entities)
- Attendance of scientific meetings of medical associations (regional/international) and provide summary to highlight the interest of the company
- Act as the medical lead in the review of the scientific content of Med-Info response to requests beyond information contained in product monographs, full prescribing information etc.
- To create content development for presentation material for HCPs when requested
Job Qualifications
- Advanced Scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, etc.) / BCMAS certification is preferred
- Fluently Bilingual in English and French (oral and written) is required
- Sales/Marketing/Market Access experience is a strong asset
- Minimum 2 years experience in MSL or other relevant function is a strong asset
- Experience in the Rheumatology, Dermatology or Gastroenterology therapeutic area is required
- Experience in communications with Payors, Formulary Committees, and Similar Entities is an asset
- Support Nordic Canada’s provincial reimbursement efforts through delivery of relevant scientific information including scientific data and information on Nordic’s pipeline or marketed products.
- Knowledge of Canadian pharmaceutical industry guidelines, e.g., IMC, PAAB is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals
- Able to carry out interactions in person as well as at distance (remote), phone, online and ability to carry digital platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse audiences
- Exceptional presentation skills are required
- Strong problem solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Effective organizational skills, agile and enjoys working cross-functionally
- Comfortable with digital technologies
- Travel required about 50% of the time within assigned territories and 2-5% travel to other regions depends on the business needs
- Working knowledge of virtual presentation platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Car with a valid G driver’s license in good standing
