**Job description**:
The MSL is a qualified member of the medical affairs team responsible for providing balanced, non-promotional high-level scientific and technical information and partnership to internal and external stakeholders for the benefit of patient care and the successful implementation of the medical affairs strategy. The MSL provides feedback from the medical community to help ensure that the company is addressing the right topics and respond to the specific medical and patient need in the given therapeutic area.

**Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities**:

- Establish and maintain trustful professional relations with HCPs (in particular, thought leaders) in the therapeutic area (TA) of interest
- Define, identify, develop and expand long-term collaborative partnerships with medical and scientific communities, institutions and societies in the therapeutic areas of interest and be recognized as an expert for the product group of biological medicinal products and biosimilars
- Be able to respond queries in relation to the specific therapeutic area and the product of interest
- Deliver credible and unbiased clinical and/or scientific presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Respond to HCPs requests providing information and technical support on product characteristics, marketing authorisations, scientific publications, clinical trial updates, disease pathophysiology, treatment algorithms
- Gather insights, identify emerging treatment trends and developments
- Collaborate with the divisional as well as regional teams, supporting on demand internal trainings to ensure the exchange of up-to-date scientific, clinical and therapeutic updates.
- Conceptualize, organize, chair and implement medical-scientific events (_e.g._ CME-certified scientific training, advisory boards, congress symposia, round tables, advanced training for practitioners).
- Provide medical partnership to HCPs: _e.g._ by supporting speakers, contribute to managing clinical trials, facilitating development of Investigator Study Proposals and supporting publication of external clinical data accordance with company policy.
- Support the Medical Director in the definition of the medical plan, define and implement tactics at the country level
- Lead the field management of IIS/IIT (clinical studies) and phase IV clinical studies
- Acquire and maintain expertise and continuous education in the relevant therapeutic areas, by literature revision, and participation in scientific meetings as well as Fresenius Kabi Biosimilar therapeutic area training sessions
- Maintain knowledge, understanding and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, legislation and company policies and SOPs, as well as able to demonstrate personal leadership in ethical and governance-related activities and discussions.
- The role must comply with policies or procedures relating to data privacy or information security.

**Liaisons**

This role is highly cross-functional, will aid building and maintaining Fresenius Kabi’s scientific credibility within the medical community and will support the HCP in the making decisions regarding appropriate therapeutic options for their patients. International collaboration is expected within the medical affairs community.

**Performance Measurement**

Performance will be measured with KPIs based on accountabilities and responsibilities

**Experience & Qualifications**
- Scientific degree level, PhD or MD is preferred
- Knowledge of immunology. Previous experience with biologics/biosimilar in rheumatology & gastroenterology is preferred
- Thorough knowledge of the assigned products and therapeutic areas
- Working knowledge of the local healthcare system, including the ability to understand clinical priorities and how processes work within this system
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, experienced in the development and delivery of scientific and product presentations including providing training to internal and external audiences.
- Competent to critically appraise studies and clinical evidence to allow engagement on higher scientific level with customers
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and familiarity with regulatory processes
- Familiarity with clinical research, interventional and non-interventional studies and GCP principles
- Ability to work on own initiative and develop proactive solutions to business challenges
- Respond to unsolicited requests for off label product information in accordance with Company policies.
