Note: The position is located at the OPP's General Headquarters in Orillia and requires a high level of engagement with the teams and new recruits, therefore there is a requirement to report to the office location as per the OPP/OPS's guidelines. However, a flexible work schedule and work location may be negotiated.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: You will:

- Provide professional psychological services for the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) utilizing your knowledge of theories of human development and relevant psychological theories, methodologies and practices.
- Lead the development and implementation of performance measures, benchmarking and quality assurance standards to evaluate programs and standards.
- Design, organize and develop research programs that align with psychology practices and theories to enhance and support the organization in the delivery psychological services.
- Develop and deliver recommendations, reports and presentations in order to provide expert advice and guidance to senior managers and executives in their decision-making activities.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- Ability to pass an OPP background security investigation.
- Current registration as a clinical psychologist in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) required.
- Valid Class “G” Driver License and/or ability to travel throughout the province if required

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Knowledge and theory and practices of psychology, current policing practices, culture, and theories to design, organize and develop research programs to manage and coordinate the activities of staff.
- Knowledge of police work and culture including administration of police services and understanding of critical incident stress response models to work collaboratively and build complementary programs to maintain psychological health and wellness within the OPP. Ability to cultivate learning and growth while promoting innovation and creativity.
- Knowledge of current/emerging trends and issues in the OPP as well as ministry and police industry directions, strategies and initiatives.
- Ability to administer and manage psychological programs and a local and regional level to achieve results within the OPP.
- Ability to coordinate psychological services within policing/security programs and review/assess recommendations for the suitability of applicants for uniform positions in the OPP or specialty units.
