Laboratory Assistant

Leduc, Canada McRina Laboratories Inc. Full time

Responsibilities:

- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), perform sample preparation and procedure prior to analyses, testing procedures, and identify any non-routine samples and seek guidance on procedures for handling;
- Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements;
- Responsible for the calibration, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of basic lab instruments;
- Prepare standards and reagents and ensure adequate supplies are available by monitoring quantities
- Operate and maintain all necessary instruments and equipment to complete tasks;
- Clean glassware and laboratory equipment, keeps work area clean, neat and organized;
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies;
- All other responsibilities as assigned.

**Experience**:

- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Chemistry related field;
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in testing lab;
- Good English communication skills required (auditory, verbal, written, and reading);
- Ability to handle pressure from high sample volumes and competing turnaround times;
- Work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks as required.

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
