**Your Opportunity**:
Working along with other Health Care Professionals, you will provide Laboratory support to the community of Leduc. The primary responsibilities include phlebotomy for adults, children and infants using both macro and micro techniques, accessioning patient specimens, troubleshooting problem specimens, performing ECGs and reception duties.

**Description**:
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Graduation from a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program which includes specimen handling and phlebotomy. Successful demonstration of laboratory skills and data entry. Working within a team environment, good interpersonal skills, effective time management and the ability to set priorities. Adaptable and flexible within an environment of change and interruptions. Ability to listen, comprehend and orally respond to or relay information, directions or questions in person, over the telephone or in writing in an accurate and clear concise manner. Must represent Laboratory Services in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Competency with the Epic (Beaker) Information System. Recent experience with Phlebotomy, Data Entry, urinalysis and ECG’s. Familiarity with Patient and Family Centred Care and NOD.
