Laboratory Assistant I

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Classification: Laboratory Assistant I Union: HSAA FAC PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Leduc PSC Primary Location: Leduc PSC Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.70 Posting End Date: 31-MAY-2024 Temporary Employee Class: Temp P/T Benefits Date Available: 24-JUN-2024 Temporary End Date: 01-JUL-2025 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 2 Shifts per cycle: 7 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $23.72 Maximum Salary: $29.56 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Successful completion of internal/external Laboratory Assistant programParticipates in continuing education and training to maintain current knowledge. Demonstrates excellent organizational, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on client service and public relations.Maintains professionalism at all times.Performs repetitive duties efficiently and accurately.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in a PSC or Community Hospital Laboratory within the last 2 years is preferred.
