**Job purpose**

The Line Supervisor oversees all activities directly relating to the activities of all bake end and packaging staff and equipment on their line to ensure a safe, efficient, and organized Gluten Free manufacturing environment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**

The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:

- Must gain working knowledge of mixer, sheeter and oven and packing hall positions including start-up checks.
- Conduct dough checks and ensure bake end environment is maintained (temperature, humidity).
- Update batch time report to maintain dough rest times and accurate completion of orders.
- Verify that code dates and correct packaging is used.
- Collect, organize and enter paperwork at the end of the shift.
- Support and ensure food safety and quality programs are followed.
- Ensure all employees are trained.
- Be proactive in eliminating unsafe acts and conditions.
- Ensure medical aid is provided for serious injuries with trained first aiders.
- Ensure GMP’s are being followed and enforced.
- Strive to attain target production efficiencies and keep scrap to a minimum.
- Review hourly shift efficiencies.
- Continue to provide solutions and or implement changes to improve efficiencies.
- Live shift crewing management.
- Ensure all work is performed within act and regulations as outlined in the Ontario occupational health and safety act for industrial establishments.
- Observe or identify potential hazardous or unsafe conditions in the workplace.
- Ensure adherence to all GMP’s, Gluten Free SOP’s and Quality standards by all employees.
- Address with support from QA product substandard and any issues that may lead to the manufacturing of substandard product.
- Review daily production records and outputs.
- Address “Out of Control Process” and determine potential shut down with the shift manager.
- Work in close conjunction with the shift manager to attain quality on products.
- Act as shift leader by providing coaching, training, discipline, and encouragement.
- Act as a pillar of communication on shift with other departments.
- Use just foods system.
- Conduct weekly inventory.
- Act as coordinator along with maintenance for oven safety hazards including build-ups, jams, power outage and evacuation procedures.
- Complete shift reports such as EOSR, logs etc.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment in all areas.
- Determine line start times with plant manager.
- Responsible for training of operators for products and processes
- Responsible for daily management and support for the team to achieve operational success.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
- Approve the vacation requests.
- Carry out incident, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
- Issue disciplinary action when needed.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge and experience working in a bakery and product packaging environment preferred.
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent command of the English language; reading/writing/verbal
- Must be a team player, have good organizational skills and the ability to work with mínimal supervision, and possess a safety-first approach to work.
- Detail oriented
- Basic math skills
- Basic computer and MS Office skills.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including overtime and have dependable attendance.

**Working conditions**:

- Always work indoors.
- May be exposed to very hot temperatures from ovens.
- May work close to others, usually within a few feet.
- Usually wear safety equipment such as gloves, hair nets, and beard nets.
- Straight shift work.

**Physical requirements**:

- Stand for long periods of time.
- Repeat the same movement.
- Bend or twist their body.
- Use their hands to handle, control, or feel products.

**Shift**

3pm - 11pm, Monday to Friday (OT as needed)
