**Hourly Rate**:$18.46 - $25.08 ($36,000 - $47,953)

**JOB SUMMARY**

Under the direction of the Nation Health Centre's Administrative Lead, the primary role of the receptionist is to provide administrative support to the NHC clinicians.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Schedule, confirm, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments;
- Oversee requests received by fax;
- Documentation of all bookings in an electronic medical record (EMR) and follow-up with providers;
- Process online requests for new patients;
- Update signage and telephone messaging regarding clinic hours and provider availability;
- Create OBEC file (HC validation) and review;
- Entry-level billing and collection, debit/credit payments and EMR reconciliation;
- Address day-to-day patient inquiries regarding client services;
- Address provider’s routine requests;
- Other duties as required.

**REMOTE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Answering messages from providers in the clinic;
- Contacting patients as needed, booking appointments and reviewing the status of referrals.

All staff are expected to work in parallel with the organization’s confidentiality agreement. As a member of our team, you are responsible for bringing issues that affect the operation of the organization, to the attention of your immediate supervisor. It is your responsibility to be up to date with all organizational communication.

The incumbent to this position is to practice within the scope and according to the standards of practice as outlined in the following documents:

- Occupational Health and Safety Act (1990);
- NHC Policies and Procedures.

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**
- Completion of a college program or other specialized courses for medical administration required or a combination of training and experience;
- Knowledge and skills: Clinical processes, Basic medical terminology;
- Computer literacy: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Electronic Medical Record software;
- Experience and knowledge using Telus PS Suite EMR;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Very organized, proactive, result-oriented and able to multi-task;
- Ability to work independently;
- Above average interpersonal and communications skills;
- Dependable, reliable, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Work in compliance with staff and patient safety practices, policies and procedures of Nation Health Centre;
- French/Français (asset).
