**ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - Full time position available**

Bright Days Premium Child Care is currently seeking an Assistant Director to join our team in our brand-new, state of the art, facility in beautiful Canmore.** **The Assistant Director plays a crucial role in the management and operations of Bright Days. This position assists the Daycare Director in overseeing all aspects of daily operations, management, planning, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in our care. The Assistant Director supports a positive and nurturing environment, fostering the growth and development of both children and staff.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Staff Supervision and Development: Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training new child care staff. Provide leadership, mentorship, and ongoing support to ECE’S and support staff. Collaborate with the Daycare Director to evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Curriculum and Program Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of age-appropriate, educational, and engaging curriculum. Ensure compliance with the FLIGHT and Montessori curriculum frameworks. Evaluate and update curriculum materials and resources as needed.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist in maintaining accurate records related of enrollment, waitlist management, attendance, schedule, billing & receiving, and budgeting/expense records. Handle parent inquiries, concerns, and communication effectively and professionally. Support the coordination of special events and activities within the center.
- Safety and Compliance: Promote a safe and healthy environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines and protocols. Ensure compliance with Alberta’s licensing regulations, and maintaining necessary certifications. Conduct regular safety drills and training for staff and children.
- Parent and Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with parents and guardians, through open communication and regular updates. Organize and participate in Parent - Educator meetings when required, and family engagement events. Collaborate with community organizations to enhance the facility's programs and resources.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and assess program effectiveness, making improvements as necessary. Seek opportunities for professional development and stay current with early childhood education trends.
**Qualifications**:
- Level 3 Early Childhood Education and Development Diploma, or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with children in a professional child care setting
- Excellent leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, and a desire to build meaningful working relationships with the team
- Strong knowledge of Alberta licensing rules and regulations
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Dependability and reliability
- CPR / First Aid Certification
- An Alberta approved food safety certificate course (or willingness to obtain)
- Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
**The following skills would be considered an asset**:
- Additional experience or training in management, human services, psychology, or social work
- Experience with implementing a FLIGHT or Montessori curriculum
- Fluency in a second language
